Mesoporous silica SBA-15 was functionalized by 2-diethylamino-ethanol(DEAE) through the (epoxide) ring opening of 3-glycidyloxy-propyl-trimethoxy silane grafted on the silica surface(denoted as DEAE-SBA-15).
