This experiment investigated what affect the coating of Medicago sativa seeds in calcium had on drought stress resistance.Calcium coating of seeds was done by immersing M.sativa seeds in a 10 mmol/L CaCl_2 solution,followed by growing the seeds under conditions differing in water availability.Results showed that the addition of calcium could increase POD enzyme activity,chlorophyll content and the relative leaf water content,and that it alleviated membrane penetration and the damage that drought stress can ...
