Machining experiments on wear characteristics and wear performance of ceramic cutting tools and PCBN cutting tools have been conducted for precision machining of GCr15 bearing steel. Microscopical observation of the wear types has been done with scanning electron microscopy. Wear characteristics and mechanism have also been studied.
