Antihistamines have been used clinically for many years. They have anti-allergic effect by blocking histamine H_1 receptor. It has been reported that a lot of cytokines and chemokines were involved in allergic inflammation. Antihistamines have inhibition effects on the migration and activation of inflammatory cells. In this article the anti-inflammatory effect of antihistamines was reviewed.
