The effect of waterlogging on physiological and biochemical charactersitics of maize was investigated. The results showed that both a marked increase of malondialdehyde (MDA) content and a marked decrease of transpiration rate,a slow degradation of chlorophyll and decreasation of soluble protein were caused by waterlogging in maize leaves.Waterlogging in different content gave a different physiological effect on maize leaves, and caused a different seedlings rehobilitation after drainage.
