Experiments on the nonlinear response of a clamped sliding buckled beam to a harmonic axial excitation are presented. Two types of resonance(fundamental parametric resonance and principle parametric resonance) are studied, and the system′s complicated dynamic behaviors, such as period multiplying bifurcations and chaos, observed.
