Glass-ceramics containing barium-mica in the system of Ba0.5Mg3(Si3AlO10)F2-Mg2Al4Si5O18 Ca3(PO4)2 show high mechanical strength and good machinability, orb=229MPa, Klc=2.48MPa.m1/2,drilling speed>7mm/min. Such good properties are attributable to the controlled microstructure of the barium-mica-coutaining glass-ceramics,i.e.interlocking mica crystals and cabbage- head feature. Two kinds of typical fracture pattern were observed,i.e.layer lacks pattern and cleaVage pattern.
