When 44 inbred lines and hybrids of maize is inoculated by isolate of Curvularia lunata, different symptoms hasarisen between its. Base on the shape, size, colour of spots and the number producing spores, three types of spot is differentiated by authors, i. e. resistant type, susceptible type and middle type. It is of use to evaluating the resistance of maize varieties to Curvularia lunata.
