Environmental harmfulness of urban traffic systems at present isdiscussed.Based on the principles of cost-benefit analysis,the concepts of“cost”and“benefit” in traffic planning are proposed and the economicassessment methods of environmental harmfulness of urban traffic systems arediscussed.These analysis and calculation provide urban traffic planning witha quantitative economic assessment standard.
