The influence of eight exotic cotton cytolasms on yield, yield components, fiber properties, and insect resistance was determined in 1987--1989. The eight cytoplasms were Gossypium herbaoeum (A1), G. arboreum(A2), G. anomalum (B1), G. longicalyx(F1), G. harknessii(D2--2), G. barbadense (AD2), G. hirsutum subsp, mexicanum (AD1),and G. hirsutum suture subsp. purpurascens (AD1).
