It is found that if the roll passes and the the rolling processes are reasonably chosen and the roll forging dies are designed properly, the stud can be formed on a suitable roll forging mill. When the roll forging draught is 26.9% and the tempering temperature is in the range from 550℃ to 600℃, while the plasticity and tenacity of the deformed and the undeformed parts of the stud are almost identical, the strength and hardness of the former are higher.
