This experiment demonstrated that epigallocatechin gallate(EGCG), the main component in green tea poly-phenols, showed a strong inhibitory effect on TPA-induced edema and hyperplasia in mouse skin, and TPA-induced promotion effect in BALB/3T3 cells initiated by 3-methylcholanthrene.
These experimental results indicate that EGCG is probably the main component in green tea polyphenols which inhibit TPA-induced promotion.
