The Joint China-Japan Glaciological Expedition in Tibet Plateau, 1989, was made from April to October, 1989. Shallow ice cores, glacial fluctuations, glacial mass balance, meteorology and hydrology were carried out during the expedition. It was found based on shallow ice core record and meteorological data from the expedition that there was an evident climatic warming trend in the Tibet Plateau.
