On the basis of a field survey of the bamboo species in Zhejiang, Fujian and Jiangxi provinces, a brief account is given of the distribution of the bamboo species in these three provinces, which have rich bamboo resources. Why the bamboos are so widely distributed in these three provinces is also discussed. We hold that this is due to the geographical and climatic conditions, which are favourable to the bamboos.
