Titanium alloys suffer from the serious disadvantages of abrasion resistance difference and the lower high temperature oxidation resistance,in order to solve this problem this paper proposed to from surface-modified layers on Ti6A14V alloy by ion nitriding and ion carbonizing technique. The component,microhardness,tribological properties and high temperature oxidation resistance of surface-modified layers have been studied.
