Influence of Copper and Vanadium on Microstructure and Properties of High Alloy White Cast Iron
【Abstract】 The influence of different proportion of copper and vanadium on as-cast microstructure and properties of high alloy white cast iron was studied by composition design, e material preparation, property test and microstructure analysis on the working condition of wet wear for grinding balls used in molybdenum mineral. The results show that different contents of copper and vanadium have different effects on the morphology and distribution of carbide of the high alloy white cast iron. The morphology of the carbide distributed uniformly in the matrix is short bar or block in the alloy(12.0% Cr) with copper 1.0% and vanadium 1.0%, thus improve hardness, impact toughness and abrasion corrosion resistance of the material effectively. Its relative abrasion corrosion resistance is approximately 15% higher than that of the plain high chromium casts iron (18. 0% Cr) without copper and vanadium.
