【Abstract】 Fingerprint identification technology is generally made up of five parts: image collection, pre-processing, character pick-up, character matching and database management. The author expounds the detailed processing method on original fingerprint image, such as the orientation-based binarization, minutia character point pick-up and pattern matching algorithms.
