【Abstract】 The article reviewed the development of the CAI English reading program proceeding from the general program to the specific program.Based on the framework of three English reading stages,it sumed up some essential abilities,skills and problems to be solved in teaching.The article reviewed the effectiveness of CAI applied to reading instruction: CAI programs can be classified into five categories;CAI programs generally tend to be effective but have only a slight effect on English reading instruction.Finally,the article discussed the respective roles of language instruction,curriculum design and teachers’ use of CAI.更多还原
