【Abstract】 Most Chinese and foreign scholars research Confucius from the respects of his core thought, ethics and morals, politics opinions, doctrine, function and contribution, etc. But they seldom concern how Confucius formed his historical and cultural position. The unique point in the article is necessity and contingency of Confucius holy position of Confucianism with Chinese historical cultural progress.
