【Abstract】 This paper explores future solar energy development trend based on in-depth knowledge of the terrestrial solar radiation and the distributed energy systems characteristics and market statistics. It appears that the solar building will be the mainstream of solar energy application and solar roof will become a major element of on-site distributed energy systems in future.
