【Abstract】 The design of substructures of the multi-arch bridges in the waterfront region south of the lower reaches of the Changjiang River is often technically challenging owing to the poor geologic conditions there.To achieve better landscape effect and also minimize the technical difficulties,the continuous arched beam structures have been applied to the Changguang Creek Bridge,Wuxi City and Shilifang Bridge at Chang’an Road,Nantong City in the waterfront region.Compared to the common continuous beam bridges,the continuous arched beam structure is suitable for landmark building as gateway and also for symbol of city culture,however,the structural behavior of the type of the structure is intricate and construction cost is fairly high.更多还原
