【Abstract】 The Awakening is about a woman named Edna and how she grows out of the traditional sex role and social code as a submissive wife into a sensible woman,and finally claims to be herself.This thesis makes a detailed analysis about the causes for her female subjectivity and her struggle for independence and freedom and points out her committing suicide is wordless rebellion against the male-oriented society rather than yielding to fate and is protection of the awakening subjectivity.更多还原
