【Abstract】 It systemically summarized the state-of-art research on polygonal mesh simplification algorithms. Firstly, the merits and defects of each category of algorithm are analyzed. Secondly, the comparison is given according to some benchmarks such as error control, simplification speed and so on, and some suggestions on how to select an appropriate simplification algorithm are provided. Finally, the algorithms’ application in distributed products collaborative design is discussed.更多还原
