【Abstract】 American novelist Katherine Anne Porter is famous for her accurate and appealing description of distinctive and spiritual independent females, whose successful writing style is to reflect human’s spiritual characteristics or changes through the depiction of materials or their sufferings. The thesis probes the writing pattern of short story Theft, which was included in her first short stories collection Flowering of Judas and Other Stories.
