基于高阶模干涉的光纤应变传感器
An Optic Fiber Strain Sensor Based on Interference of Higher-order Modes
【摘要】 介绍一种利用光纤内的高阶模干涉原理实现对应变测量的新型光纤应变传感器。在采用相同光纤的条件下,该应变传感器具有与光纤布拉格光栅(FBG)相反符号的应变系数,其温度灵敏度与FBG传感器相同,而应变灵敏度约为FBG传感器的2倍,非常适合与FBG结合实现应变与温度的同时测量,并具有结构简单、制作方便和成本低等特点。
【Abstract】 This paper reports on a novel optic-fiber strain sensor.It has been demonstrated that by utilizing the interference of higher-order modes in a segment of multimode fiber,an optic-fiber strain sensor can be constructed.Compared with the most popularly used strain sensor based on fiber Bragg grating(FBG) technology,the proposed strain sensor has an almost doubled strain sensitivity with an opposite sign.The temperature sensitivity of the strain sensor described in this paper is as same as that of FBG strain sensors.Therefore,the proposed strain sensor can be used with FBG sensors for simultaneous strain and temperature measurements.Other features include an extremely simple structure and low cost.
