【Abstract】 Friction damper is one of the energy dissipation devices .The construtions of the device is very simple and easy to make. Some kinds, configuration patterns , energy dissipation characteristics of friction dampers are illustrated in this paper . Then, the mathematical model of the friction damper and analysis methods on structures with the friction dampers are introduced.
