【Abstract】 IP network is becoming a uniform package multi-service transport platform. It should provide more strict reliability mechanism, and its target is not only ensuring the service connection, but also ensuring the service QoS. ASON can quickly provide end-to-end connection, and improve the network reliability by multiple protection and restoration. If IP network is carried by ASON, ASON can provide protection and restoration mechanism for IP network. This article researches the requirement of ASON carrying IP network, and studies the feasibility of ASON providing protection and restoration for IP network.
