【Abstract】 It is necessary to establish the Erhai Lake basin geographic information system (EHLBGIS), which will provide the basic geographic information for the Erhai Lake basin management. The paper elaborates the overall design and database design of the EHLBGIS. The paper describes the three methods of ArcObjects development and discusses how to develop a stand-alone application based on the ArcObjects, which is based on Microsoft’s Component Object Model (COM).
