【Abstract】 A regional alarm and monitor system is realized through CATV-network. Two-way data transmission is performed through the network and an alarm center is set up within a small region, and an alarm terminal is installed at the subscriber end. The system composition, operating principle, software and hardware are given. When alarm-case occurs, the alarm terminal transmits a signal to the alarm center, which includes address information, alarm situation, operating status of the alarm terminal and so on.
