【Abstract】 This paper tries to analyze the urban renewal experience of Japanese commercial areas with evidences of some successful cases. With special background of Japanese post-modern period, characters of social culture, space location, field scale and spatial forms are concluded, and the influence of the structures of commercial function is described from the given examples.
