基于放大单元实验的新型荫罩式PDP放电特性研究
Discharge Characteristics of Newly-Developed Shadow Mask Plasma Display Panel in Closed Macroscopic Discharge Cell
【摘要】 设计制作了封闭的新型荫罩式等离子显示屏(SM-PDP)放大单元实验屏,对SM-PDP放电特性进行了研究。设计了相应的驱动电路,且驱动波形频率、占空比等参数可调。建立了放大单元的光辐射特性测试系统,研究了SM-PDP维持期的放电过程,扫描电极宽度对维持电压、红外辐射和放电效率的影响。结果表明,SM-PDP的放电过程为非均匀场中的对向放电过程,扫描电极变宽,维持电压降低,红外辐射沿电极扩展,但是放电效率降低。
【Abstract】 A dedicated closed macroscopic discharge cell with appropriate driving circuits,which generate adjustable frequency and duty cycle of the waveform,has been fabricated to evaluate the discharge characteristics of a newly-developed shadow mask plasma display panel(SM-PDP).With the lab-buit setup for measuring optical emission characteristics,discharging in sustain period and influence of the scan-electrode width on the discharge characteristics were studied.The results show that the SM-PDP discharge occurs in two opposite directions in the non-uniform field distribution and that as the scan electrode width increases,the sustain voltage decreases and the infrared emission spreads along the electrode,but the discharge efficiency decreases.
