【Abstract】 Population shift is a common phenomenon in the Dynasty of Song. Numerous famous scholars and officials chose to settle in Zhenjiang. Towards the end of the Dynasty of Song when warriors of Jin marched southwards, people in the center of the country and on either side of the Huan River crossed the Yangze River for refuge, thus appeared the third wave of immigrants. Zhenjiang is the first stopping place at the lower reach of the Yangze River, so many people chose to live here.
