【Abstract】 Objective The aim of study was to explore the significance of the change of CD4 + CD25 + regulatory T cells (Treg) in patients with unstable angina. Methods The frequencies of CD4 + CD25 + Treg were detected in 13 patients with unstable angina, 8 patients with stable angina and 10 patients with chest pain syndrome by flow cytometry. Results The frequencies of CD4 + CD25 + Treg were found to be significantly lower in patients with unstable angina ( 10. 1±3.4% ) than those of stable angina ( 14. 2±2.9% ) and chest pain syndrome (16. 5±4.9% ) . Conclusion The frequencies of Treg decrease in patients with unstable angina. The decrease of Treg may lead to the breakdown of peripheral autoimmune tolerance and participate in the progression of atherosclerosis.
