【Abstract】 The reearch of mental lexicon from the perspective of cognitive psychology involved in reading comprehension usually lays emphasis on the mental process. This paper, however, explores the differences in the mental lexicon between overseas Chinese students and other foreign students, and discusses the causes of the these differences through an analysis of the characters of which the students can only write the Pinyin(拼音), the misused characters due to the same pronunciation and those with different pronunciations in the subjects’ written work.
