【Abstract】 A novel synthetic method for 1-alkyl-1’-acetylferrocenes (CnH2n+1-Fc-COCH3, n=2～8, Fc=C5H4FeC5H4) was developed. Alkylferrocenoyl chlorides were added into the solution of sodium methoxy-late with ethyl acetoacetate, then hydrolytic decarboxylation led to 1-alkyl-1’-acetylferrocenes.
