【Abstract】 Ideology is such a wide concept that this paper just focuses on the social and historical perspective. Through the comparison of some different translations of words in two Chinese versions of The Scarlet Letter, the author attempts to probe into the issue of how the ideology,especially the social and historical background,influences the image of the character in literary translations through the translator,and also the historical nature of translation.更多还原
