【Abstract】 Focusing on the phenomenon of strategic silence in the novel the dream of red mansions,this paper analyzes strategic silence from three different aspects: the theory of politeness,social distance and game theory.Finally,it emphasizes that strategic silence plays a major role in communication and it is an effective means that can help people save face or achieve a particular goal.Using strategic silence at an appropriate time will bring communicators a satisfactory effect.更多还原
