There are a large number of modern historic buildings in Wuhan city whose historic context needs to be preserved.Taking Hankou water tower and formal Japanese Army Officers resident house of Shengli Street of Hankou as an example,the different tactics of preservation and reform of modern building are analyzed for the purpose of to explore the preservation and reform tactic of Wuhan modern historic buildings.
