【Abstract】 THE METHODS OF HISTORICAL STUDIES is a monograph of Yao Yongpu, scholar of the late period of the Tongcheng School, which systematically expounds theories and mothods of historiography. From the perspectives of meaning and function, styles of historical works, differences between odds and evens, complication and simplicity, curvedness and straightness in ancient and modern historical articles, and using relatively simple classical Chinese, it can be found that the thought of his historiography not only has a tendency to stick to the basic value of Chinese traditional historiography, but also some ideas and consciousnesses of the modern. Yao Yongpu’s “Studying Method of Historical Science” reflects some features of our country’s historical science in the transforming period from the tradition to the modern.更多还原
