Biodiesel is a kind of clean renewable bioenergy and regarded as an excellent substitute for diesel fue1.The properties and the preparation methods of biodiesel fuel were reviewed in the paper. The transesterification used in industry were described emphatically, including acid/base-catalyzed processes, enzymatic synthesis and supercritical fluid techniques developed recently. The application situations of biodiesel fuels are introduced.
