非线性光子晶体缺陷双稳现象研究
Investigation of the Bistability of Nonlinear Photonic Crystal Defects
【摘要】 采用非线性时域有限差分方法和时间耦合模理论,研究具有Kerr非线性直接耦合类型光子晶体缺陷的双稳现象.结果表明,时间耦合模理论是分析非线性光子晶体缺陷双稳现象的有效工具.研究发现,与上跳点附近的行为比较,双稳态在下跳点附近具有更大的透射对比度,因此,当利用缺陷的双稳现象实现光开关时,应把开关工作点设在靠近下跳点的位置.理论分析与模拟实验的结果一致.
【Abstract】 The bistability of photonic crystal(PC) defects with Kerr nonlinearity are investigated based on the nonlinear finite-difference time-domain technique and the coupled mode theory(CMT).It is demonstrated that CMT is an effective method for analyzing the bistability of nonlinear PC defects.It is found that the transmission contrast at the down-transition point is much larger than that at the up-transition one.Therefore,the operation point for all-optical switching is preferably chosen to be close to the down-transition point.The theoretical analysis is supported by the simulation results.
