Traffic information is the base of dynamic traffic management. Better collection of the information is the premise of smoothing the traffic management. The concept of floating car data method is expounded and the general system structure, data processing flow also introduced. Analysis focuses on the information increment, as well as the development plan in phases. At the same time the important technology and system issues are pointed out.
