浮点乘法器中的舍入方法研究
Research on Rounding Methods for High-Speed Floating-Point Multipliers
【摘要】 文章针对浮点乘法器中的尾数舍入方法进行了研究,提出了一种基于预测和选择的快速舍入方法。相对于传统的舍入方法,这种方法通过预测和选择来实现快速舍入,舍入过程相对简单,减小了实现时的硬件开销和关键路径延时,明显地提高了浮点乘法器的性能,并且精度越高,性能提高的空间越大。
【Abstract】 Researches are focused on rounding methods for high-speed floating-point multipliers in the paper,and a kind of fast rounding method based on the prediction and selection is presented.The fast rounding method can decrease the complexity of the rounding logic,reduce the hardware consumption and the critical path delay when implemented through prediction and rounding digits selection.What’s more,the precision of the floating-point multipliers is higher, the optimization of the performance is more greatly.
