【Abstract】 The synthetic methods of 3,5-dimethylaniline were introduced in this paper. The different results were obtained by the different synthetic methods,and the feasibilities of the different synthetic routes were discussed. The six synthetic methods of 3,5-dimethylaniline were described based upon different raw materials. Among those methods,some methods could not be applied in the industry because of the raw material and its price. The methods with 3,5-xylenol and 2,4-xylenol were often used in the industrial production. 3,5-xylenol method had become very common because of available raw material,low price and few side-reactions.
