【Abstract】 More and more information technology was applied in comprehensive analysis of farmland monitoring. The application of GIS could not only meet the need of managing the farmland environments’ information,but also became an effective tool for support the system. The necessity to establish farmland monitoring information system for agricultural production was summarized in this paper,the current situation of monitoring information system at home and abroad and the problems existed at home were analyzed.
