【Abstract】 It’s proved by much translating practice that it is no easy task to faithfully transmit the connotation and style of an English essay because the translators’ work is affected by their aesthetic tastes,artistic qualities and diversified beliefs in translation.Therefore,it is one of the key criteria to evaluate the translations of certain literary work whether a translator succeeds in helping the readers of the translations get the aesthetic information and impression similar to those transmitted by the(original) work.Aesthetic appeal of the translated work lies not only in the perfect literary work itself,but also in the translator’s perfect representation of the original work.Quite a few translators have perfectly interpreted and represented Washington Irving’s essays.Based on the contrastive studies of the samples from the translations of his Rural Life in England,the co-authors aim to probe the aesthetic interpretation and representation of English essays,and propose the necessity of perfecting the translation of such essays from the perspective of aesthetic creativity.更多还原
