【Abstract】 Imiquimod, a small-molecule of non-nucleotide and heterocyclic amine, also an immune response modifier of the imidazoquinoline family members, has been widely used in anal and external genital warts, actinic keratosis and superficial basal cell carcinoma in abroad. As an agonist of Toll-like receptors, iteliminates the lesions by inducing the production of cytokines (IFN-α, TNF-α, IL-12,etc)and stimulating the recognition of viral infection and tumors by the immune system. The clinical application and progress of it are reviewed here. With the development of the research and realization of its mechanisms, its indications will increase, and it will have a more prospective application in dermatology.更多还原
