With present status and existing problems of biosynthesis of ethylene diamine derivatives concerned,the important function and mechanism of imidazoline reduction ring-opening reaction is discussed.The effect of reaction condition on the yield of product is also discussed.Moreover,the application of imidazoline reduction ring-opening reaction in organic synthesis is introduced.
