【Abstract】 During the Cold War the convergence of Chinese and American interests both in the security field and in the economic and trade field played a vital role in thawing, maintaining and pro-moting the Sino-American relations. But the interest convergence in the security field and the inter-est convergence in the economic and trade field were not the same in their importance and the securi-ty need was greater than the economic and trade need. Further, the diametrical opposition between their social systems and ideologies did not disappear just because of the interest convergence in the security field and its negative impact on the Sino-American relations has persisted.更多还原
