【Abstract】 This paper proposes that the Chinese language education in Southeast Asia belongs to the mother tongue education and analyzes its reason. The author summarizes the goal and the content of the contemporary Chinese language education as mother tongue and analyzes its teaching models before Chinese language learning and teaching prohibitions in Southeast Asia.
